Privacy Notice

1. Who we are

LekkerVoice is operated by Webstruct ("Webstruct", "we", "us"). Webstruct is the data controller for the personal data we collect about you when you use the Service.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data — your name, email address, password (hashed), and optional profile information such as business name, logo, and VAT number.
  • Customer and invoice data — the client details, line items, and notes you enter to generate invoices.
  • Support data — messages and attachments you send when contacting support.
  • Usage and device data — log data, device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
  • Cookies — essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use limited analytics cookies (see Cookies section below).

Payment card details are collected directly by our payment provider, Paddle, and are not stored on our servers.

3. Why we use your data

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To provide the Service (invoice generation, delivery, recurring schedules).
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, password reset, invoice receipts).
  • To prevent fraud and keep the Service secure.
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To improve the Service and develop new features.
  • To comply with legal and tax obligations.

4. Legal basis

We process your personal data on the following bases:

  • Contract — to provide the Service you have signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud, and improve the product.
  • Consent — for optional marketing communications and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, and other applicable laws.

5. Who we share your data with

  • Service providers — hosting, database, file storage, email delivery, error tracking, and analytics providers who process data on our behalf under contract.
  • Paddle — our Merchant of Record for subscriptions. Paddle processes payments, manages your subscription, handles tax compliance, issues invoices, and processes refund requests on our behalf. See Paddle's Privacy Notice.
  • Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and tax advisers under confidentiality.
  • Authorities — when required to comply with applicable law, court orders, or to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside South Africa, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, in line with applicable data protection law.

7. Retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Invoice and billing records may be retained for up to 7 years where required by tax law. When personal data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the South African Protection of Personal Information Act and, where applicable, the EU/UK GDPR), you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of your personal data;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • request a portable copy of your data;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
  • lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (such as the South African Information Regulator).

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies that are required for the Service to function (such as authentication and session cookies). We may use limited analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or in-app notice.
